Wuchuangyuan' Competition Expert Panel Visits Oumaan, Highly Recognizing Disruptive Lightning Protection Tech System

于 2026-07-31 10:00:00 发布

Co-hosted by the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology Innovation and the Wuhan Industrial Innovation Development Research Institute, the "Wuchuangyuan" Technological Innovation Competition aims to identify disruptive technological achievements characterized by strong scenario applicability, rigid market demand, profound technical routes, and unique functionalities. This is achieved through a three-dimensional selection mechanism of "expert evaluation of technology, market evaluation of value, and implementation environment evaluation." Ultimately, the competition seeks to facilitate the commercialization of these disruptive technologies and drive industrial development through technological innovation.

Hunan Oumaan Technology Group Co., Ltd. has successfully advanced to the finals with its new-generation lightning protection technology system. Set against the backdrop of China's 'dual carbon' goals and the large-scale development of new energy, the company's flexible grounding technology precisely addresses the critical demand for reliable lightning protection and uninterrupted power supply in key energy infrastructure, including wind farms, solar plants, virtual power plants, and computing centers. Demonstrating the potential to disrupt the asymmetric advantages of traditional lightning protection technologies, the innovation has drawn strong attention from the expert judging panel.

On July 13, 2026, Yang Wei, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Development Department at the Wuhan Industrial Innovation Development Research Institute and General Manager of the Wuhan Disruptive Technology Innovation Center, led a panel of experts on a dedicated visit to Hunan Province for an in-depth inspection and technical exchange.

The symposium was attended by Pu Xin, Deputy Division Chief of the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, and Li Zheng, Deputy Director of the Enterprise Service Center of Xiangjiang New Area. Representing the Oumaan expert team, Professor Wang Tieliu from Beijing University of Technology—and former Director of the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering—traveled from Beijing to Changsha to join the discussions.

This visit served not only as an on-site verification of the finalist project but also as a profound alignment between the innovation platforms of Wuhan and Changsha. Grounded in their shared recognition of the project's technological value and commercialization prospects, both sides proactively offered support and explored collaborative opportunities.

Debut of Four Core Technology Systems Wins On-Site Acclaim, Validated by Robust Data

During the symposium, Xu Bochen, General Manager of Oumaan Group, systematically presented the company's four core technology systems to the competition leaders. These technologies represent a paradigm shift from traditional lightning protection approaches: the HD-PLR strong-ionization non-air-terminal lightning rejection system capable of dissipating lightning strikes; flexible grounding technology that resolves grounding challenges in areas with high soil resistivity; DSAN superhydrophobic and superoleophobic biomimetic coating that ensures the dielectric strength of external power insulation; and the HD-LDL online lightning monitoring system with real-time tracking capabilities.

Among these, the field-tested data for the flexible grounding technology became the focal point of the event. In a project at the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Maintenance and Material Testing Transit Base, the technology successfully and consistently reduced grounding resistance to below 0.5Ω—with certain points reaching as low as 0.4Ω—even in an environment where soil resistivity ranged from 700 to 800 Ω·m and the available area for a single grounding grid was less than 800 m². Maintaining long-term effectiveness, it precisely addressed the industry pain point of grounding ultra-high-voltage (UHV) equipment in high-resistivity regions.

Directly contracted and implemented by the UHV Substation Company of State Grid Hunan Electric Power Co., Ltd., this project serves as an authoritative validation of the flexible grounding technology's applicability in UHV testing scenarios within the State Grid system.

Regarding its independent R&D capabilities and industry-academia-research collaboration mechanisms, the company reported that its flexible grounding technology has been successfully applied to the ground infrastructure supporting the "Tianqin Project," a major national science and technology initiative. Applications include the grounding system design and construction for the Tangjiawan Dananshan Tunnel Gravitational Wave Detection Laboratory, as well as the 2022 lightning protection and grounding renovation project for the laser ranging station. These applications have fully validated the long-term operational reliability of the flexible grounding technology in high-precision scientific research scenarios. (Note: In the aforementioned Oumaan projects, metal grounding bodies were used as the foundational grounding material, and liquid flexible grounding electrode were employed as the resistance-reduction measure; no "graphite-based flexible grounding bodies" were used at any stage.)

Representing the Oumaan expert team, Professor Wang Tieliu pointed out that the company's technological approach is not merely an incremental improvement on traditional products, but a systematic reconstruction rooted in the physical mechanisms of lightning. Its innovation logic aligns perfectly with the disruptive technology standards advocated by the "Wuchuangyuan" Competition. In particular, it demonstrates irreplaceability in meeting the critical demands of new energy infrastructure under the "dual carbon" goals, such as reducing tripping incidents at wind farms and providing effective grounding for photovoltaic power stations and substations.

During the symposium, Oumaan also shared its plans for building a laboratory cluster from 2026 to 2027, along with its vision to participate in the formulation of industry and national standards. The attending leaders then toured Oumaan's Lightning Protection Research Laboratory.

Equipped with a state-of-the-art lightning impulse testing platform, the laboratory can accurately simulate and digitally reproduce lightning waveforms. It also features the capability to measure the conduction and attenuation characteristics of lightning currents within grounding grids, providing autonomous and controllable testing support for the R&D validation and performance optimization of core technologies such as flexible grounding electrode.

Shared Recognition by Both Platforms Deepens Synergy for Future Development

After listening to the presentation, Yang Wei, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Development Department at the Wuhan Industrial Innovation Development Research Institute and General Manager of the Wuhan Disruptive Technology Innovation Center, asked detailed questions regarding key issues such as the technology's development stage, application cases, and university collaboration mechanisms. He fully commended Oumaan for breaking away from traditional rigid mindsets and establishing its own independent, original technology system. He pointed out that innovative projects addressing real-world pain points with autonomous and controllable capabilities are exactly the focus of regional technological innovation ecosystems. Moving forward, the judging panel will provide targeted support in areas such as technology refinement and resource matching.

Representing the Xiangjiang New Area Enterprise Service Center, Deputy Director Li Zheng noted that as an outstanding incubated enterprise recognized by the Center in 2025, Oumaan's technological breakthroughs and business model transformation fully demonstrate the effectiveness of the incubation program. Emphasizing the Center's high regard for the company's development, he stated that their dedicated attendance at the event not only reflects localized service but also underscores a continued commitment to facilitating policy alignment and resource matching, thereby helping the enterprise connect with higher-tier innovation platforms.

All parties at the meeting unanimously agreed that Oumaan's technological system not only possesses a mature foundation of engineering validation but also demonstrates a forward-looking vision of transitioning from "passive protection" to "active lightning cognition." This perfectly aligns with the core characteristics of disruptive technologies: strong scenario applicability, rigid market demand, profound technical routes, and unique functionalities.

Both sides exchanged views on future medium- to long-term cooperation, including advancing the formulation of technical standards and exploring the resource utilization of lightning energy. It was also suggested that the company further refine its technological positioning and strengthen resource alignment with national-level innovation platforms.

This inspection and exchange marks Oumaan's official entry into the key focus and support scope of the innovation platforms in both Wuhan and Changsha, laying a solid foundation for the company to accelerate the industrialization and internationalization of its new-generation lightning protection technology.
